Casa Silencio 

Casa Silencio is a new townhouse situated in the Spanish town of Lo Pagan/San Pedro del Pinatar on the beautiful Mar Menor in the Murcia region, with views across the salt lakes and nature reserve which has National Park status.

The house has two bedrooms and two bathrooms, (one with shower cubicle, the other with over bath shower), lounge/dining room, fully fitted kitchen, patio and rooftop solarium. It is well equipped, with air conditioning (hot and cold), oven, hob, extractor, kettle, microwave, washing machine, fridge freezer, DVD and hifi. The TV has 10 UK channels including Skysports 1 and Movie Channel as well as Spanish.

There is a communal pool with a large terrace for the use of guests and the nearest beach, Playa Villananitos is a 10 minute walk. At the beach are the famous mudbaths, rich in therapeutic minerals. The house is a 10 minute drive from Murcia (San Javier) airport and 50 minute drive south from Alicante.

Local Area 

The town of San Pedro Del Pinatar and its neighbouring coastal resort of Lo Pagan are situated on the northern tip of the Mar Menor which is a natural salt water lagoon with several blue flag beaches, safe bathing and warm water which is, on average, 2degrees warmer than the Med.

The fine sandy beaches look across the Mar Menor (minor sea) to the famous La Manga strip which has the renowned La Manga Golf Resort, a 20minute drive away.

Within a short walk is the national park “Las Salinas de San Pedro del Pinatar”, which plays host to several species of birds including migrating flamingos. A newly built road/cycle track takes you through the national park and salt flats to the marina. New shops and restaurants are presently being provided to compliment the existing facilities. There are many walks through the nature reserve, and the general area. Being very flat it is accessible to all and also very popular with cyclists, who have the luxury of many dedicated cycle lanes (local cycle hire nearby).

Golfers are spoilt for choice in this locality with 3 courses, Villamartin, Campoamor and Las Ramblas, only a 15minute drive away. A 30 minute drive will take you to 6 more and there are presently 7 being constructed.

There are also facilities for sailing, water skiing, para gliding, boat trips, fishing, diving, wind surfing, jet skiing and horse riding within a short drive. Please note some of the water sports are only available in the summer months.

There is a large shopping mall, Dos Mares, less than 10 minutes drive away, which boasts a good selection of shops, fast food restaurants, a hypermarket (Eroski), cinemas and ten pin bowling.

Lo Pagan offers several bars, cafes and restaurants along its lengthy promenade shaded by palm trees. It is an enjoyable evening walk and there is a fairground and plenty of nightlife in the summer. San Pedro is a small Spanish town with tapas bars, restaurants, banks, shops and supermarkets. The local market on a Monday is a hub of activity and sells almost everything, including locally grown produce. The market is in the centre of town which is a 15 minute walk away. The bus station is also a 15 minute walk from the house. There is also a local bar close to the house, ask our key holder for directions.

The well furnished lounge has a leather settee for two and two comfortable easy chairs, coffee table, corner table, wall unit, dining table and four chairs. There are a few books, including guide books and magazines, available.

The downstairs shower room has a sliding shower screen providing a spacious shower area.

Both bedrooms have bedside cabinets with lamps, alarm clocks, spacious fitted wardrobes and suitcase storage under the beds.

The bathroom and shower room also have wall mounted heaters for use in the winter

Large patio to front, with large attractive outdoor table and four chairs.

Private balcony leading from front bedroom patio doors. The roof solarium has a table, four chairs & parasol and two sunloungers with cushions. To the rear of the solarium there is a clothes drier and pegs.

The enclosed yard to the rear has a further sink, washing machine, shower and storage cupboard. A BBQ is also available for use on the front terrace.

Further Details

The day of arrival and the number of days you wish to book are flexible. There is no departure time; you have the rental of the property until you vacate, two hours before your return flight. Welcome packs are available, if required, at a charge of €12.00 (£8.50), to include bread, margarine, eggs, water, orange juice, two bottles of wine (red & white), tea and coffee. As previously stated, beach towels are not provided; please bring your own.

Conditions

There is no smoking allowed in the house, although guests are welcome to smoke on the terraces etc. Please respect this condition. If established that clients ignore this rule and smoke within the house, then the deposit will be forfeited.

There is cleaning equipment provided for use during your stay. If staying for two or more weeks, then a maid service can be arranged after the first and subsequent weeks at additional cost.

A booking/damage/security deposit of £100 is required to confirm booking. The full rental cost is payable 4 weeks before arrival. The booking/damage/security deposit will be returned within 7 days of your return date following a check by keyholders. If the rental is cancelled up to 6 weeks before arrival date, then half of the booking deposit will be returned. If cancelled less than 6 weeks before arrival date then no refund will be given.
